All Saints’ Day at Newman House

Bishop John Wilson celebrated Mass at Newman House on the All Saints’ Day earlier this month. Following the celebration, Bishop Wilson blessed a replica of the San Damiano Cross which now adorns the facade of Newman House. The San Damiano Cross holds special significance to the Franciscan Order. It was in the prayer before this very cross that St. Francis of Assisi received the commission from the Lord to rebuild the Church. The original San Damiano Cross can now be found in the Basilica of Saint Clare in Assisi where it was visited by Pope Francis earlier this autumn.
