Coronavirus (Covid-19)

 In Chaplaincy News

We are taking every sensible precaution we can to prevent the further spread of coronavirus to people who wish to use the Chaplaincy.

There are specific guidelines for Catholic churches. As Newman House is also a residence, we are taking all the measures we can to protect those who live the house from infection.

We are following all the guidance given to us by the Diocese of Westminster, and by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales.

As well as being a Chaplaincy Centre, Newman House is also a large student hall of residence. This means we have to take extra, sensible precautions to keep everyone safe, and to do all we can to prevent the spread of infection.

If you have entered the UK from a category 1 or 2 country in the last 14 days we ask that you don’t enter Newman House, and instead find somewhere local for Mass that does not have a hall of residence attached.

If you have any cold or flu symptoms, you are advised to stay at home and not to attend Mass until the symptoms have cleared. (You can make a “spiritual communion” at home: to unite yourself in prayer with those at Mass and to ask God for the graces you would receive through Holy Communion).

Thank you very much indeed for your understanding.

Fr Stephen
